On October 24th, 2017 at approximately 11:08 a.m., Fairview RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Range Road 40 and Township Road 824 north of Fairview. A pick-up truck was travelling westbound on Township Road 824 and a gravel truck was travelling northbound on Range Road 40 when it went through the intersection and the pick-up truck collided with the passenger side of the gravel truck.
The lone male occupant of the pick-up truck, a 78-year-old man from Fairview suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the gravel truck was taken to the local hospital with non- life threatening injuries.
Weather and road conditions do not appear to be factors in relation to this incident. The name of the deceased male will not be released.
