The process continues for the creation of a childcare facility in the Smoky River region.

A group met in the Falher council chamber on July 10 to establish the executive and a board of directors for the proposed childcare facility.

The executive consists of Chairperson Jessica Simard, Vice-Chairperson Britney Emsley and Secretary/Treasurer Shara Boucher. The board of directors consists of Kim Lussier, Sherry Schulz and Pierrette Dubois.

Diane Chiasson, the economic development office for Smoky River Regional Economic Development, has been leading the effort to establish a new childcare facility in the Smoky River region. During the meeting, she announced that the bylaws would be reviewed at the next meeting, which will be held at the Falher town office, beginning at noon on Aug. 22.

Chiasson is also working on the articles of incorporation for a society, which have to be sent to the Alberta Government for approval.
