Collision north of Guy kills one person, injures another

At 6:27 p.m. on Nov. 27, Smoky River Emergency Services, as well as members of the McLennan RCMP Detachment and EMS responded to a multi-vehicle collision.

It occurred at the intersection of Highway 49 and Township Road 770, north of Guy.

The collision involved a commercial transport and a passenger vehicle.

In the passenger vehicle, one person died and another was injured and transported to the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre in McLennan for treatment.

The driver of the commercial transport, a Super-B tanker truck, was not injured. No fuel was spilled either.

The highway was cordoned off in both directions, between Township Road 762 and Township Road 772, for three hours while the collision was dealt with.

No other details about the incident were available at press time.
