Cardinal new success coach for Kinuso School

Tahza Cardinal has been appointed as a new success coach for Kinuso School under High Prairie School Division.

He will be working with Joyce Hunt, another success coach Joyce Hunt, says an HPSD news release.

Cardinal has several years of experience as a teaching assistant at North Country School and several more years of experience as a youth worker.

In addition to serving the hamlet of Kinuso, the school serves Driftpile Cree Nation, Swan River First Nation, Faust, and the Big Lakes County.

Success coaches work directly in schools with teachers, students, and their respective communities, they work closely with the existing HPSD career and wellness coaches, education directors, and respective officials from local First Nations and Métis Settlements.

They facilitate indigenous cultural awareness, and they advocate for all students as well as facilitate completion of academic courses and participation in extra-curricular programs.
