Three new physicians have arrived in Peace River.

Dr. Adam Mildenberger and spouse Dr. Kathryn Wood started at the Peace River Medical Clinic in July. Dr. Karen Neupane started at the clinic in August.

“They are all great additions to our local care team and will play a significant role to provide access to primary care,” says Dr. Karen Lundgard, AHS associate north zone Medical director.

The Peace River area is now served by 14 family physicians.

Dr. Mildenberger is a family medicine physician with expertise in anesthesia. He is from Beaverlodge.

Dr. Wood is also a family medicine physician with expertise in obstetrics and general surgery. She is from Edmonton.

Both physicians received their medical training at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Wood completed her residency as part of the University of Alberta Rural Family Medicine Program in Grande Prairie, with a fellowship in enhanced surgical skills in Prince Albert, Sask.

Dr. Mildenberger also completed his residency through the University of Alberta Rural Family Medicine Program in Grande Prairie and fellowship in family practice anesthesia at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
