Anyone wishing to see to bull riding at this year’s Honey Festival is encouraged to get their ticket soon.
Professional Bull Riders Canada will hold their event at the Falher Regional Recreation Complex, beginning at 7 p.m. on June 16.
“The best bull riders and the best bulls in Canada will be there,” says Geoff Turnquist, the president of the Honey Festival committee. “There’s no other PBR event in North America at that time.”
Check the PBR poster in this week’s paper for details.
Turnquist is touting this year’s Honey Festival to be one of the best the community has seen.
“With the help of certain people, we’re about to bring you the biggest and best Honey Festival ever,” says Turnquist.
This year’s event, to be held June 15-17, will have many activities for the public to enjoy.
A dinner will be held in the Club Alouette, beginning at 5 p.m. on June 15, featuring a French band as part of the event.
The Town of Falher will host their pancake breakfast in the FRRC parking lot in the morning of June 16. Fernando Sanchez will host his bee beard demonstration at the FRRC that day, too.
A vendor market will be held in the Club Alouette the same day.
A parade will be held again this year, but the route had not been finalized at press time. Also, the Show N Shine event will be held on June 16, with Eric Verstappen as the organizer.
June 16 will also see the annual Smoky River Runners fun run and walk held; check their Facebook page for more information.
In the evening of June 16, the FRRC will be the scene of the TJ Ruckus Band’s performance, with local favourites Trin and Ariane opening for them. A beer garden will be on site, too.
